"HEY PRETTY"

A sultry song about a woman who is seeking pleasure with little regard for consequence, "Hey Pretty" is the tenth track off the 2000 album "Haunted" by singer-songwriter Poe (Ann Danielewski). The song was written by Poe and Kenneth Burgomaster and received instant critical and commercial success, especially in the alternative rock community. In 2001, it reached #13 on the Modern Rock Billboard Chart and #30 on the Adult Top 40 Billboard Chart in the United States. It was also featured on the soundtrack to Spyder Games.

Unlike most songs, "Hey Pretty" has been released in a variety of versions featuring different words, languages, and even vocalists. One of the most successful versions featured Poe's brother, author Mark Z. Danielewski, reading from his book House of Leaves over the music. The "Drive-By 2001 Mix" that was featured on the single also received much airplay in the U.S. and abroad. Still, the most popular version is the main one featured on the album.
